- Social Service Organizations
Old Pueblo Community Services provides support to those in our community who are currently struggling with addiction, homelessness, and mental health concerns, offering them a fresh start on the road to self-sufficiency, moving them from homeless to home through a full continuum of services. The services start with outreach to persons who are homeless or being released from an institution setting, offering dignified supportive housing options, behavioral health counseling, employment coaching and peer support to them as they reintegrate.
In addition, OPCS offers home ownership opportunities to persons living on low incomes so they may experience the joy of home ownership. Through construction of affordable housing, homebuyer education and down payment assistance programs, hundreds of families have found their way home. We also assist families that face foreclosure through prevention counseling, mortgage relief and mortgage modification assistance. Finally, we do renovations for low-income seniors and persons with disabilities, affording them the opportunity to stay in their homes.
OPCS serves those often forgotten and under-served in our community, including homeless veterans, persons returning from incarceration, and those experiencing long term, chronic homelessness. We envision a future in which all citizens of Tucson have the opportunity to reside in safe, affordable housing and living meaningful, self-defined, dignified lives as part of a healthy, inclusive community.
