TRAK's overall mission is to strengthen kids and community through animal interaction. We believe that our youth play such an important role in this community. We believe that encouraging kindness, respect, responsibility, friendship, and by teaching life skills we can strengthen their character, their morals, and teach them the power of helping others.
TRAK's impact is constantly evolving. Our greatest impact on the Tucson community has always been giving youth a safe place to learn and thrive in today’s fast paced and demanding world. We promote hard work, encourage one on one connections with animals and people, expect honesty, teach independence, and believe that everyone has something to contribute. Our volunteers are the lifeline of TRAK, they represent our mission when they visit assisted living facilities, hospitals, schools, and other community events. The impact of TRAK is two fold; our youth learn how to be responsible and caring members of society and the people they come in contact with benefit from the connection they make with our animals and with our volunteers.
TRAK offers horsemanship riding lessons, where riders first learn about the horse and how to be safe around it. They then progress at their own pace, usually through weekly lessons. We focus on western style riding and have regular events for our riders to demonstrate their skills. Other TRAK programs include birthday parties, summer camp, family memberships, field trips, and community service visits.
