Welcoming more than 5,000 Tucsonans to Downtown Tucson, the annual TENWEST Festival takes place October 12–21, 2018. You’re invited to experience 100+ unique events that encourage curiosity and discovery in the arts, social impact, STEM, entrepreneurship, technology, and sustainability. Join in the community collaboration October 12 -21.
The ten day festival will kick off each morning with a fun, physical activity to get attendees energized during the Activate event. The main draw for each day, the Educate event, will focus on a central theme for learning and growth. Lastly, wrap up each day with a community jubilee during the evening Celebrate event.

A partnership between UA STEM Learning Center, SARSEF, and the Waters Foundation, the STEM Connect conference brings together leaders in education, business, nonprofit, government, and more to identify areas of cross-sector collaboration. On Monday, October 15, you’ll help create STEM learning and career opportunities that will benefit southern Arizona for years to come.
IdeaFunding is your best opportunity to connect with startup leaders, learn key skills to launch your company, and take the next steps to raising funds
and launching your company. The full day on Tuesday, October 16 includes a pitch competition.
Sonoran Cloud City is focused on highlighting what sustainable and innovative solutions look like within a cloud city based in the desert. Wednesday, October 17 will focus on how the Sonoran Desert region will use the cloud, big data, and innovative technologies to impact areas such as transportation, water, energy, and waste.
The Social Impact Summit brings together individuals, nonprofits, and corporations to discover ways to maximize social impact and drive innovation strategies. Through a series of workshops, panels, and roundtable discussions on Thursday, October 18, attendees explore trends, changes, and future innovations necessary to drive social innovation.
Join your neighbors and transform a downtown intersection into a community park during Tactical Urbanism. Using paint, planters, community art, and other tools we’ll work together to reclaim space for the neighborhood while also calming traffic. After the park is complete on Saturday, October 20, celebrate with a street party with DJs, food trucks, and more!
The Women’s Hackathon includes intensive design thinking/rapid prototyping training, workshops around topics like coding, 3D modeling, drones, virtual reality, bot building, group hack time, mentoring, and a final project presentation and awards ceremony on Saturday, October 20.
The goal of TEDxTucson is to be a catalyst for change – bringing thinkers and doers in the Tucson community together to have meaningful conversations that lead to positive change. The Saturday, October 20 Salon, entitled "Food for Thought," features five speakers on the topic of food and our regional future.
