Banner Health Foundation receives $10K donation from Cox
Cox employees presented a check for $10K to support the Alzheimer’s Institute
TUCSON – The Southern Arizona employees of Cox Communications presented Banner Health Foundation with a $10,000 donation to support the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute (BAI).
More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease today. By 2050, that number could exceed 16 million.
“We’re proud to support Banner Health’s mission to detect and treat Alzheimer’s disease in our community,” said Lisa Lovallo, Southern Arizona market vice president for Cox Communications. “The Institute treats our loved ones with care and provides support, information and hope to the entire family. This will have a life-changing impact on so many people in Southern Arizona, my family included!”
BAI introduced a new standard of care that provides ongoing hope and help for people with Alzheimer’s/dementia and their families. The institute has three over-arching goals: to help find treatments to end Alzheimer’s as soon as possible; to set a national standard of dementia care for patients and family caregivers; and to forge new models of collaboration in biomedical research.
“Philanthropic support has been critical to our success since Banner Alzheimer’s Institute’s founding in 2006,” said Dr. Eric Reiman, executive director of BAI. “Generous gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations like Cox Communications have propelled BAI to international renown in comprehensive Alzheimer’s care and pioneering research. We are very grateful for this investment in our continued work to end Alzheimer’s before another generation is lost.”
