Children’s Museum Tucson|Oro Valley is bringing play back – better than ever
Tucson, AZ (March 16, 2021) – After a year of quiet courtyard and empty exhibits, Children’s Museum Tucson |Oro Valley is ready to welcome families back to the Museum.
Children’s Museum Tucson, 200 S. 6th Ave. in Downtown, reopens on March 25. The Museum will be open from 9 am to 5 pm Thursday-Sunday. The Museum will be limited to one-third capacity, with timed admission at 9 am, 10:30 am, noon, 1:30 pm and 3 pm. Admission is $9 per person. Visitors are encouraged to purchase advance tickets at the Museum website, ChildrensMuseumTucson.org. Discounts will be available for military and visitors on public assistance.
“We are so excited to hear laughter throughout the Children’s Museum!” Executive Director Hilary Van Alsburg said. “We have spent the past year developing new programs, expanding our exhibits and gearing up for reopening - we are so ready for families to come back to play. Our focus is on fun engagement and welcoming families back to in-person experiences safely.”
Visitors will have access to all exhibits inside the Museum. There are activities in the Curiosity Courtyard, plus updated exhibits throughout the Museum. Visitors age 5 and older will be required to wear masks inside the Museum at all times. The extended outdoor space and visitor limit ensure there is ample room for social distancing while allowing children to explore and play.
Children’s Museum Oro Valley, 11015 N. Oracle Rd., reopens on April 1. This Early Childhood Education-focused space will be open from 9 am-3 pm Thursday-Sunday with limited capacity. Timed entry will be at 9 am, 10:30 am, noon and 1:30 pm. Admission is $7 per person with advance tickets available online and discounts available.
CMOV also was updated during the shutdown, with a new train table, updated Toddler Town and new outdoor play activities. All visitors age 5 and older will be required to wear masks in the Museum.
Arizona Milk Producers is the Take Me to the Museum! sponsor and will have goody bags for the first 250 kids at CMT and first 100 kids at CMOV opening weekend.
The Museum requires entering adults to be accompanied by kids (under 18) and all children must be supervised by an adult.
